Daventry Mind Mental Health service welcomed MP Chris Heaton-Harris to see its new building and hear what the new project had to offer.

The service has recently moved into its new home – a purpose-built centre off the old gas works car park in Brook Street.

Mind’s service manager Mary Doyle said: “Chris was very impressed with the new facilities which supports the work Mind provides for the local community.

“He spent his time having a relaxed conversations with people who attend the service, listening to their concerns and asking how Mind supports them.

“One service user explained that without Mind’s support they would not be alive today.

“Some Mind members asked about benefits issues, and it was nice for the MP to hear for himself their views and opinions.”

Mind’s former home, in the old grammar school site off North Street, is set to be demolished to make way for a new retail development.
