A YOUTH group campaigning for a stronger voice in shaping local services has rallied support from their MP.
Daventry MP Chris Heaton-Harris has pledged his support to members of the Daventry and District Housing Youth Board after a meeting at his House of Commons office.
Arriving for an official tour of the House of Commons, the group, aged 13 to 17, went behind the scenes with a chance to put their questions to Mr Heaton-Harris.
He said: “It is important that the young people of Daventry make their views known on the matters that will affect them in the future. Daventry is a great town with a bright future and that future could be even brighter if young people contribute to the debate on the town’s development.”
The youth board’s priorities for the year ahead include promoting youth services and supporting older and vulnerable people in a bid to lessen the intergenerational gap.
