AN APPEAL against a wind monitoring mast has been granted.

TCI Renewables applied to put the mast on the Shuckburgh Estate and was turned down by Stratford upon Avon District Council in September 2011. The appeal will see if it is viable for the firm to put six 130-metre turbines on the estate which is to the south of Lower Shuckbrugh which could supply 6,300 homes with power.

TCI Renewables director Bruce Hutt said: “We are pleased with the decision. The visual impact of the mast was overstated by the council.”

The mast will give the firm specific wind data to assist which will be installed in the next few weeks.
