A TRIO of events held at Farthingstone on Friday has raised thousands of pounds for charity.
A charity lunch, summer fair and picnic ball took place at Bay Tree Cottage in the village to raise funds for the Macmillan Haematology Unit at Northampton General Hospital and the Friends of Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
The summer lunch saw plenty of food served while stalls were selling a wide variety of gifts. Visitors to the ball enjoyed live music, a disco as well as an auction of promises.
Organiser Jenny Dicks said: “It went fantastically well; we served around 180 lunches and there were 36 stalls serving lots of goodies. It was a great day.
“I have no doubt we will be looking to do something similar next year.
“I hope it will be bigger and better than this year.”
