STRONG winds forced a Daventry man to complete a 400ft charity abseil indoors on Saturday.
Mike Tobin, who lives on Drayton in Daventry, was set to climb down the outside of the National Lift Tower at Northampton in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.
He said: “The abseil down the outside was cancelled due to high winds and icy weather, but they were all prepared for an indoor abseil just in case.
“Because I’m scared of heights it was quite scary, but to say that I have accomplished it means a lot to me as I’ve managed to raise a substantial amount of money. I have to say a huge thanks to everyone who has sponsored me, especially to our staff at All Aspects Care.
“Now that I’ve conquered the lift tower, my next thought for fundraising may involve jumping out of a plane!”
