NHS Nene and Corby CCGs and Northamptonshire County Council want to hear from people with experiences of Northamptonshire adult mental health services to help them plan for the future.

They held one session earlier today in Daventry at the Abbey Centre from 2pm to 3.30pm, but decided to cancel the 5.45pm session.

Dr David Smart, a GP from Northamptonshire and clinical lead for mental health, called for people to get involved in developing mental health services in the county.

He said: “There is no health without mental health and mental health is everyone’s business.

“It is estimated that one in four of us will experience a mental health problem and this will impact on families, friends, school, work and communities.

“As a general practitioner I know that good mental health and wellbeing are fundamental to physical health and to achieving our potential.

“We would like everyone in Northamptonshire to have access to excellent mental health services and we invite people to get involved and tell us what they think about current services and what they would like to see in the future”
