TESCO in Wimbourne Place is closed after a robbery this morning (Friday).
The robbery happened at around 5.30am when three masked men entered the rear of the store and intimidated three members of staff.
As they were opening the store the staff were approached and a significant amount of money and cigarettes were taken.
Anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious in the area, such as a vehicle driving erratically out of Daventry, or people waiting outside of the store, is urged to contact police.
Witnesses to this incident, or anyone with information, should call Northamptonshire Police on 101 - alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Daventry inspector Paul Valentine said: “We are dealing with the robbery and have CID and community officers at the scene. No-one was hurt.”
