THERE were some tasty treats on offer at Daventry Library when the country market came to town.
For the first time on Saturday the market, which is run by Northamptonshire County Council, was held inside the library on North Street.
The theme of the event was festive food, and it featured everything from Christmas cakes and mince pies to jams and chutneys.
Library supervisor Sharon Ford said: “It was a great atmosphere. We had good feedback from people in the library and the staff also enjoyed it. The cakes were very tasty too.
“We are always looking for opportunities to increase the number of visitors and will look to run events like this again.
“It definitely increased the number of visitors we had and everyone enjoyed the produce on offer.”
