Man punched in Daventry in the early hours of Saturday

A MAN was punched during an assault in Daventry town centre on Saturday (May 5).

A 34-year-old man had left The Square nightclub in Bowen Square when, between 2.30am and 3am, he was approached by three men outside the nearby HSBC branch.

One of the men shouted at the victim and then punched him in the head, causing a slight injury to his nose and swelling behind his ear.

The offender is described as a man of oriental origin, in his early 20s, approximately 5ft 7ins tall and of slim build.
