Man left with cut after daylight attack on Daventry street

A man was attacked with a weapon in Daventry town centre on Monday afternoon.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault, which took place near to the mini-roundabout at the junction of Oxford Street and St James Street.

Between 12.30pm and 1pm on Monday, October 19, the victim was approached at the junction, by a man who hit him in the shoulder with an object, causing a cut.

The offender was with a second man. Both men were seen in a silver and grey new mini convertible, with a khaki green roof.

The offender is described as white, aged early to mid-20s, around 6ft tall, and wearing a blue and white Berghaus style jacket.

The second man is described as white, aged in his mid-30s, around 5ft 9ins tall, of slim build, balding blonde hair and wearing a black and grey coat.
