A 74-year old man has raised nearly £1,000 following a charity walk with his guide dog.

Frank Berry walked over 10 miles in 3 and a half hours around Pitsford reservoir, Brixworth Country Park and Brixworth Library.

Mr Berry walked with his dog Quasia and friend Derek to raise money for guide dogs as a gesture of thanks for the way they have improved his life.

He has raised over £600.00 with his daughters raising an extra £200.00. He hopes to reach the £1,000 mark shortly.

Mr Berry will hold a coffee morning in the United Reformed Church Hall on Brington Road in Long Buckby on October 13, as part of national guide dog week.

A raffle, bring and buy stall and guide dog merchandise will be on offer from 10am until noon.
