A CALENDAR featuring half-naked men from Daventry has gone on sale to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Friends Debbie Tustin and Zoe Heath, who both live on the Southbrook, came up with the idea three-weeks ago over a coffee.
And now the 2012 calendar is on sale after they persuaded a group of men, including both their husbands, to take part.
They said: “It’s just all tongue in cheek and we’ve got men of all different shapes and sizes.
“We are really happy with how it looks because it was just something we came up with over a coffee after having a bit of a giggle. We’ve had such a good laugh doing it.
“We got our husbands involved first and they were good sports. Then we messaged their friends on Facebook and managed to rope a few more of them in.
“It was really good fun doing the photo shoot with 12 men standing in their boxers. They were a bit nervous but really good about it.
“It’s only taken us three weeks to get everything together and we’ve had so much help from local businesses, including Orchard Print which has supplied us with the calendars.”
The friends are hoping to collect at least £800 for the charity, and they already have plans to do it all again next year.
Debbie and Zoe said: “We are planning on doing it again and having a boys’ and girls’ calendar to see who can raise the most money.
“We can also print more this year if people want to order them after our current batch runs out.”
The calendar costs £5.99 and is available from Cafe Rosso on Sheaf Street or from Daventry Post Office.
