Long Buckby Post Office is to move into the neighbouring newsagents in the village in May offering extended hours.
The Post Office has confirmed Long Buckby Post Office will move to Buckby Newsagents, 4 High Street, Long Buckby, NN6 7RD at 1pm on Monday May 18.
This will be a new-style open-plan ‘local’ branch where services are provided from an open plan till at the shop counter instead of from a separate screened counter.
Services will be available during shop opening hours – Monday to Friday: 4am to 5.30pm: Saturday: 4am to 1.30pm and Sunday: 4am to 12.30pm. This will offer customers an extra 39 hours and 30 minutes of Post Office services every week including Sunday opening. The branch will also open significantly earlier every day.
The current Long Buckby Post Office situated next door to the new branch will close at 12pm on Monday May 18. During the short one hour transfer period the alternative branch is Crick Post Office, 86 Main Road, Crick, NN6 7TX.
Will Russell, Post Office regional manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents. We are confident that this vibrant new-style post office at the heart of the community will be popular. The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme.”
