Local author Judith Allnatt will be speaking to members of Daventry and District U3A on Thursday November 19.

She will talk about her latest two books, “Moon Field” and “The Silk Factory”.

The Moon Field, set in 1914, is a poignant story of love and redemption in a war that destroys everything except the bonds of the human heart.

The Silk Factory, inspired by Judith’s research into the silk factory, barracks and ordnance depot in Weedon, is a story about inhuman taskmasters and the weavers’ rebellion.

The U3A meets at the Community Centre, Ashby Road. Doors open at 1.30pm for a 2pm start.

If you are interested in joining the U3A search online for ‘Daventry & District U3A’ for information and an application form to download or you can go along to one of the group’s monthly meetings and see the membership secretary there.
