Lights, camera, action for launch of film society

THE launch of a new village film society took place on Sunday (November 18) when a group of teenagers met for an introduction to film-making.

The group of 10 to 16-year-olds were taken through a new website, created by the Badby and District Film Society and Threshold Studios of Northampton, which walks them through the steps of creating a short film from the ideas stage through to the final cut.

Vice-chairman of the film society, Richard Bird, said the team have been working on the project for most of 2012.

He said: “This is certainly one of the most exciting and ambitious things we’ve done so far.

“Extending our activities into the creative area and with a new generation of film-makers is all part of our aim to develop what we offer to the local village communities.”

Threshold’s Sam Lindley used the website to take two teams of film-makers through the film-making process allowing the teams to go into the village to create their own films - one in Badby woods and one in the village hall.

In the coming weeks the groups will meet again to edit and show their films.
