Abigail Campbell, Labour’s parliamentary candidate for Daventry, visited the town’s fire station with supporters last week to talk to fire fighters and see a drill in which a trapped victim was released from an upturned car.
The visit is part of a continuing series of ‘fact-finding’ days for Cllr Campbell, who has also taken on a 12-hour night-shift with paramedics and next month will spend a day at EMAS control room.
“I’ve seen first-hand the life-saving work going on at the frontline of our public services. We need to support our public sector workers, not run them down. The Tories’ ideological drive to shrink the state is going to put lives at risk”.
