A new florist in Daventry is hoping flower arranging courses and workshops will make a difference in the town.
Linda Seabrook, who went to school in Daventry, has returned to the area after working in Wales for nearly 20 years and has opened LA’s Florist in Prince William Walk.
She went to Moulton Agricultural College and studied for a teaching certificate in Newport. Ms Seabrook said: “I have been in retail all of my working life.
“I started on a market stall in Wales with 10 green buckets and from there I opened my first shop in 1997.
“The opportunity came along to open the store here and it was perfect.
“There is a much larger footfall in Daventry.”
Ms Seabrook has organised five-week flower arranging courses which run from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays as well as a course on Fridays between 2.30pm and 4.30pm. There are also some half day Christmas workshops from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, December 6 and on Saturday, December 13.
Ms Seabrook added: “I think the accredited course, workshops and demonstrations is what will make us stand out. Being a tutor, it will be lovely to pass on my enjoyment of flowers.”
