A CHARITY jumble sale in Daventry raised a healthy sum on Saturday.
The sale, held at the New Street Day Centre, near Tesco, was raising money for the National Children’s Tumour Leukaemia Cancer Trust (NC TLC), set up by Daventry’s last gala day queen Janet Walker-Smith.
Her mum Carol Walker is the charity’s Daventry ambassador. She said: “We had a really good day in all.
“Although we didn’t have lots of people coming in, we managed to raise £310 which we’re very pleased with. It was our first event like this in Daventry to raise money for the charity.”
The organisation helps families who have a child diagnosed with cancer, including several within the Daventry area.
