Sir Roger Moore popped in for lunch at a pub in the Daventry district.

The James Bond legend, who played 007 in seven films including Octopussy and The Man With The Golden Gun, stopped off for lunch at The Red Lion in East Haddon last Tuesday.

It was the third visit to the award-winning country pub for the film legend.

Nick Bonner, owner of the Red Lion, said: “We had the pleasure of looking after Sir Roger Moore and his beautiful wife Kristina for a third time at the Red Lion in East Haddon.

“As always, Sir Roger was a true gent, talking to our staff and customers and allowing people to take photos and sign autographs. We knew Sir Roger was coming for lunch a couple of weeks ago, so we had a few specials on that we know he likes.”

Sir Roger enjoyed braised lamb breast with minted crushed peas and creamy mash for his lunch.

Mr Bonner continued: “He was pleased to hear about the ethos of using local produce and that the lamb had been sourced from our farmer around the corner in East Haddon.

General manager Joe Buckley added: “What a day. Always worth every second of hard work when you get customers like this! A true gent.”
