It all added up for students
Here are Jennifer Wise and Aidan Aodouy photographed in 1996.
The two Danetre School students both won gold medals in a national maths competition.
They had to answer 25 complex questions in one hour under exam conditions and without the help of a calculator, ruler or any other equipment.
The contest was entered by thousands of children across the country, and tested their abilities to deal with mathematical concepts and to unravel difficult language.
