Investment opportunities in Daventry's regeneration have been shown to the world at an international conference

Key projects, including the Daventry WaterSpace, Daventry Canal Arm and the Sites 1&5 retail and leisure developments, are included in a new prospectus of Midlands regeneration opportunities launched at the international MIPIM real estate show, which is taking place in Cannes from March 15 to 18.

Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills Sajid Javid MP unveiled the prospectus – known as the Midlands Engine Regeneration Opportunities Pitch Book – at the show, which brings together influential players and leading professionals from all international property sectors.

Daventry’s Town Centre Vision projects are among around 30 opportunities in the Midlands identified by the UK Trade and Investment’s Regeneration Investment Organisation (RIO) as being ready for development and offering huge potential for international investors. Daventry District Council (DDC) prepared the Daventry pitch and worked with Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership to submit it to the RIO.

Councillor Chris Millar, leader of Daventry District Council, said: “It’s fantastic news that our Town Centre Vision projects have been showcased by the Government in this way to potential investors from all over the world.

“The MIPIM show attracts international property leaders and real estate professionals looking to source new projects and assets to invest in. Our ambitious agenda to transform the heart of Daventry with new retail and leisure facilities provides some excellent opportunities for them.

“The Daventry Canal Arm and Boatlift, for example, will not only contribute to the major regeneration and development of our area but also create a tourist attraction of national and possibly international significance. We hope this latest pitch to potential international investors will attract further investment into the district to help us achieve our ambitious vision which will benefit both existing and future generations.”
