CHILDREN at a town infant school are holding special activity afternoons to get in the Olympic spirit.
Every month the youngsters at Falconer’s Hill Infant School are taking part in Olympic Smart activity sessions to increase their knowledge and understanding of the games.
Activities range from re-creating the Olympic stadium to developing the skills needed to take part in Olympic sports.
The children are also counting down the days to the opening of the London Games on a big board in the hall and will hold their own ‘mini Olympics’ event at the end of term.
Headteacher Coleen Wilkins said: “We feel the Olympics being held in London is a once-in-a-lifetime experience worth devoting regular time to so the children really understand and remember it.”
