The morning saw riders drive up through the town and down the High Street in the traditional ‘ride-in’ parade, led by Daventry Mayor Lynn Jones.

The free event is becoming somewhat of a mainstay in Daventry’s even calendar and chairman Scott Greig, speaking ahead of the event, said he hoped it would become “embedded as part of the town’s culture”.

Cllr Jones said: “It has been tradition for the Mayor to lead the ride-in for the past few years and sitting in the side car was thrilling.

“It was an honour to officially open the festival and to spend the day meeting the various stall holders, motorcycle owners and attendees.

“I can’t wait for next year’s festival and cannot thank the organisers enough for their continued hard-work to ensure that Daventry town continues to host such a great event.”

This year’s festival was the largest yet with over 500 motorcycles being displayed in the town centre and over 5,000 people attending throughout the day.

Scott Greig said: “It never ceases to amaze me how many people attend the festival and this year was no exception.

“I cannot thank Daventry Town Council, local businesses and residents enough for their continued support in assisting to hold this successful annual event.

“As an organiser it is always a pleasure to hear of the amount of fun that people have at an event and the feedback we have received so far has been exceptional. Roll on next year!”
