MORE than 700 people braved freezing weather to attend the Woodford Halse Christmas Street Fair on Friday.
Station Road was closed for the festive event in the village, which saw Santa in his horse-drawn sleigh and the fancy dress theme of a Christmas Carol - traditional or muppet.
Many of the stalls were raising money for charities including the Royal British Legion, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance and Age Concern.
Janet Cheshire, who arranged the fair, said: “It went a lot better than I expected considering how the weather was all week.
“The amount of people that turned up was brilliant and lots of people dressed up as well, the whole atmosphere was fantastic.
“It’s all about getting the community together and really we managed to do that.
“It was a brilliant evening and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.”
