TODDLERS learned all about road safety during special lessons at in their village.
Welton Toddler Group held the launch of the sessions on Thursday last week at the village hall.
They have come about due to a £669 grant from the community investment fund of Orbit Heart of England which looks after affordable homes across the Midlands.
The sessions are designed for those with children old enough to walk but still too young to understand the dangers traffic can pose.
Lee Henstridge, who runs the group, said: “Our aim is to teach pre-school children about road safety through play, songs and games.
“Thanks to the funding we have purchased role play costumes, high-visibility vests and a pedestrian crossing.
“We were delighted to have the support of the local police and fire services who attended the launch event to teach basic road safety skills.
“We will deem the project a success if it prevents just one accident.”
