The British Heart Foundation (BHF) and Diabetes UK are appealing for enthusiastic volunteers in Daventry to help out at a collection weekend at their local Tesco store.
Collections will take place on Saturday June 13 and Sunday June 14, with the aim of raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for the BHF and Diabetes UK, as part of the major national charity partnership between the two organisations and Tesco.
BHF and Diabetes UK are recruiting thousands of volunteers across the UK and are looking for volunteers in Daventry to help out at the Big Collection weekend locally.
Team Leader Volunteers will play a crucial role in raising funds for a campaign which aims to encourage millions of people to reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease and Type 2 diabetes by leading a healthier lifestyle, both conditions which are largely preventable, by making healthy lifestyle choices.
The three year partnership aims to raise millions of pounds and the support of volunteers will help to save lives through helping millions eat better and get active, reducing the risk of serious ill-health in the future, as well as helping to fund the vital work of the BHF and Diabetes UK.
Peter Shorrick, Diabetes UK Midlands Regional Manager, said: “By joining us at the Tesco Daventry store you can play a vital part in helping people live longer, healthier lives.
“Your support will mean that we can help millions of people reduce their risk of developing these diseases.”
