England’s handball captain Bobby White visited Daventry Leisure Centre to teach some children a few skills.
Bobby white appeared at the centre to teach children some handball skills.
He said: “I go into a lot of schools and at this age they have the core skills to progress very quickly in the sport.
“The kids really get into it and it’s fantastic, getting them engaged in sport like this was what the Olympics was all about. I want to do anything I can do to inspire kids in sport.”
Alan Hills: “What we have going on in the way of sport in Daventry is absolutely brilliant, there is so much on offer at the leisure centre.
“This kind of thing is a great thing because we have a responsibility to reduce obesity and get more people participating in sport.
“We are top of the county at the moment with 36.2 per cent of people involved in sport. It’s great to be top but if we could get that to 50 per cent that would be great.”
“I wanted to come down and see Bobby in action”
