A secondary school has been forced to close today due to a lack of mains water and the predicted heat.
Staff at Guilsborough School took the decision ahead of what is predicted to be the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures for the Daventry district expected to reach a maximum of 33C.
Anglian Water says a water main burst in the village this morning, cutting supplies or reducing water pressure to some addresses.
It says it expects supplies to return to normal this morning, but customers may find their tap water cloudy or discoloured. If they do they are advised to run it for a few minutes until it clears.
Guilsborough Primary School and its preschool are open today.
