A RESIDENTS’ group said it will campaign against new proposals for 150 new homes in Brixworth.

Barratt Homes held a public consultation to discuss its plans at Brixworth Library on Friday and Saturday.

It comes just two weeks after a development of the same size for another site in the village was thrown out by councillors.

Bob Chattaway, from Brixworth Residents Against New Estates (BRANE), said: “The proposals show the development would be outside of the village and would place the same strain on facilities and roads as the previous one we campaigned against did.”

Ian Young, development director at Barratt Homes, said: “Daventry district needs more homes to meet its housing requirement. We think this extension to Brixworth is more logical than anything else we have seen.”
