Grain store reignites village abattoir fears

VILLAGERS fear that an application for a grain store could lead to an abattoir near a housing estate via the back door.

A notice has gone up at Onley Park to seek the views for a grain store which has been submitted by Mr D Baker to be built on the site adjacent to Daventry Road.

The site has previously been the subject of a planning application by Onley Farms to build an abattoir which was refused by Rugby Borough Council in March last year and an appeal was later withdrawn.

However, the villagers who fought the last application believe this could be another way of getting an abattoir built.
