Giant eel found in the canal

A 50-year-old giant eel has been discovered living in a Watford canal.

Named Sheela by the people who discovered it, the eel, which is several feet long, was found by a team of Canal and River Trust workers who were making repairs to a lock.

Trust spokesman, Becca Dent, said: “We have lots of eels living in the canal system but this is a brilliant discovery.
