Get sporty at summer camps

With the summer holidays in full swing, children in Daventry are invited to take part in four sports camps.

The summer sports camps have been arranged by South Northamptonshire Council as part of the council’s popular Sport, Play, Leisure and Arts programme.

They feature a range of sports including horse riding, golf lessons, cycling, and football.

Cllr Karen Cooper, portfolio holder for community engagement and wellbeing, said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for youngsters to get involved in various sports during the long summer break, and I am sure that new skills will be learnt as well as having a lot of fun.”

The full schedule includes: horse riding at New Tunnel Hill Farm, Stoke Road, Blisworth, August 11, 12, 17, 18, and August 24, from 10am to 12.30pm, for ages eight to 13 years,

It costs £25 per session, £45 for two sessions, and £130 for all six sessions.

British Cycling, Brackley (August 19) Hazelborough Woods, Silverstone (September 1), from eight to 16 years, £20 per session.

Golf at Silverstone Road, Stowe, Silverstone, August 16, 25 and August 30, from 10am to 3pm, from eight to 13 years, £15 per session, £40 for all three sessions

Football, Deanshanger (August 17), Middleton Cheney (August 24) Bugbrooke (31 August 31), from 1pm to 4pm, from ten to 14 years, £2 per session
