Funding given for 53 homes

An extra 53 social houses are to be built in the Daventry district.

It comes after the Futures Housing Group, which runs Daventry and District Housing (DDH), was given £4.5 million by the Homes & Communities Agency.

As part of Futures Housing Group DDH already provides more than 3,000 homes in the region and that number will now increase after the housing provider successfully secured each of the proposed new development sites that it bid for.

DDH’s strategic director of assets, Martin Sherman, said: “We’re really excited to receive the funding to build new affordable homes across the Daventry district. Given the shortage of housing, it’s really important that we are able to continue developing new properties to help ease the crisis.”
