Freemasons lend a ‘Helping Hand’ to fund

A THOUSAND pounds has been given to a Daventry charity by a Long Buckby group.

The Buckby Castle Lodge of the Freemasons presented £1,000 to the Daventry-based Pete Spencer Helping Hands Memorial Fund on Wednesday afternoon last week.

The money was raised by an auction of promises luncheon held by the lodge with promises donated by members.

The memorial fund provides specialist equipment and days out to children with serious illnesses or disabilities and their families.

Pictured from left are Joyce Dicks with Tony Dicks, who was master of the lodge at the time of the auction, and Claire Lister, an ambassador for Helping Hands.
