A FREE aternoon of activites and fun for children, plus an open air cinema shownig three films, takes place at Daventry Country Park this weekend.
The free family event is being held for a second year at the Country Park on Saturday, July 28, with a wide range of activities for youngsters.
Organised by Daventry District Council together with Daventry Town Council, the event runs from noon until 7.30pm and will feature children’s activities including magic shows, face painting, a bungee run and bouncy castle.
Cars 2 (U) will be shown on the large cinema screen at 1pm, followed by Rio (U) at 3.15pm and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (12A) at 5.15pm
The DACT minibus will also be operating a park and ride system from the Lodge Road car park to the country park throughout the day.
The event has been organised by Daventry District Council and Daventry Town Council.
Cllr Alan Hills, portfolio holder for community, culture and leisure at DDC, said: “It’s a great opportunity for families to relax and catch a film for free among the beautiful surroundings of the country park and I would encourage families to go along with a picnic and enjoy the day out.”
Cllr Ron Fox, Mayor of Daventry, said: “The event was such a great success last year and we hope it will be even better this time round. We’ve chosen a selection of films that we hope will appeal to all families and with activities for youngsters also taking place, there’s something for everyone, completely free of charge.”
