FOUR men have been found guilty of poaching near a village in the Davenry area.

The men, two aged 19, one aged 21 and one aged 28, are all from Wigan and were arrested in possession of lamps and four lurcher dogs on land near Aston Le Walls in November last year.

All four were charged under the Night Poaching Act 1828 and appeared before Northampton Magistrates Court on Tuesday 22 May, where they were each found guilty and fined £100 with £65 costs.

A police spokesperson said: “We are pleased with this result and hope it acts as a warning to others who may be considering committing similar offences in the future.”
