A sweet-toothed boy from Flore is in the running to see his ultimate ice cream sundae come to life.

Harry Wright, 10, is hoping to win a competition with his Popping Mega Mountain.

It features chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream with popcorn and marshmallows and is topped off with pieces of Twirl and Crunchie chocolate.

He entered the Flaming Grill’s Ice Cream Competition, where children were asked to design a new sundae to feature on its menu.

Harry is now one of five finalists who have made it through to the final stage of the competition and now needs locals to vote for his ice cream sundae in order for it to become a reality on 146 pub menus across the UK in Spring 2016, including The Whitehills on White Hills Way.

The WhiteHills has already got behind Harry and is asking guests to vote for the Popping Mega Mountain at www.flaminggrillpubs.com to help Harry win a Drayton Manor Family Pass, a family meal at Flaming Grill and see his sundae sold in pubs up and down the country.

John O’Donnell general manager at The WhiteHills said: “Harry’s spectacular sundae will definitely catch the eye of kids all over the UK.

“He has shown real creativity and originality with their creation and I’d like to encourage as many people as possible to get behind Harry in the public vote to get the sundae on our menu.”

Fiona, Harry’s mum, said: “I’m really pleased that Harry was selected as a finalist for the ice cream competition.

“He had a great time coming up with Popping Mega Mountain and really thought about what treats other children would love to tuck into.”

She praised her son for his efforts with the competition.

“I am really proud he has made it this far and look forward to see how the voting pans out,” said Fiona.
