Daventry District Council held a flag-raising ceremony on Monday to pay tribute to Britain’s servicemen and women in the lead-up to Armed Forces Day.
The event, which was held at the council’s civic offices in Lodge Road, was attended by members of the Royal British Legion.
Cllr Liz Griffin, deputy leader of Daventry District Council, said: “We are honoured to show our support to Armed Forces Day in a year that marks the 70th anniversary of the end of the Second World War.
“We have been marking Armed Forces Day in this way for several years now and it is a good way for us to reflect on the outstanding contribution of the men and women of our armed forces.”
Armed Forces Day is being celebrated on Saturday.
