There will be plenty of ooos and aahhs as thousands of people head along to Daventry’s annual bonfire night event next weekend.
The town’s free fireworks spectacular returns this year on Saturday November 7 at Daventry and District Sports Club off Western Avenue.
The event is once again being staged by Daventry Town Council and large crowds are expected as normal. The display itself will be put on by Amazing Fireworks of Daventry, and will be set to music.
There are no tickets and admission is free. Gates open at 6pm, with the display starting at 7.30pm. Parking at the site will only be available to blue badge holders. The road from London Road to Newnham Hill will be closed during the show.
The same evening in Flore there will be a tealight procession from the Scout Hut at 6pm, heading to the Brodie Lodge Playing Field for the lighting of the bonfire at 6.30pm and the fireworks display at 7.30pm.
At Hollowell there will be rides, stalls and some steam engines on the Rally Field also on Saturday November 7. Gates open at 5pm, the bonfire will be lit at 7pm, and the fireworks start at 7.30pm. Entry is £1 per person.
The big display in Northampton is on the Racecourse on Thursday November 5 – bonfire at 7pm, and fireworks at 7.30pm. More than 14,000 people went in 2014, so people are urged to park in the town centre and walk.
