A FIREWORKS display will be returning to the town for the first time since 2007.
Daventry Town Council will be organising the event which is due to take place on Saturday, November 5 from 7pm.
The night, which is free admission, will be held at Borough Hill with a display which is being put together by Amazing Fireworks based in Station Close, Daventry.
For those looking to attend but who do not have access to a car, a park and ride service will be operated by the team at Daventry Area Community Transport and run by Daventry Leisure Centre.
The event organiser Lynn Scott said: “We wanted to put this on and see if it would work. Borough Hill is an amazing location and if the weather is good then you should be able to see firework displays from across the country. It should be a great night.”
The owner of Amazing Fireworks, which is supplying the fireworks, Richard Glover said: “We have got a rather brilliant display lined up for the event at the Daventry which is the first in the town for a long time.
“There will be flying saucers and it is quite a big wide open space for us to cover, so we will need fireworks that can be seen across quite a wide area.
“Borough Hill is a really good location, there are many good reasons why that space is perfect for it.
“The nice thing is that it should be a really long display but we have got something spectacular for the end of the night which we are keeping under our hats for now but it should be a terrific climax for the show.”
He is pleased to see a fireworks display in the town.
Mr Glover added: “It is great for us to do this for the town as we are a Daventry-based firm.”
The last fireworks display was run by the now defunct Ford Sports and Social Club and was cancelled as the organisers were worried about being unable to recoup the costs of organising the event.
A fireworks display also takes place at East Haddon on the same night and two are planned for the following day, in Byfield and Ashby St Ledgers.
