SIX fire engines were called out to a fire at a recycling plant in Daventry in the early hours of Tuesday, October 18.
The fire broke out on a conveyor at Sims Recycling, on Fawsley Drive, on the town’s Heartlands industrial estate.
Fire crews from Daventry, Long Buckby, Guilsborough and Warwickshire were called out.
The fire was put out by just after 8am, but one crew has remained on site to monitor the situation.
Two years ago at same plant, then under previous management, a fire broke out in a pile of recycling sending a plume of smoke over the whole town leading to school closures.
