Daventry Cadets rallied to show their community Christmas spirit in Daventry on Monday night,
Young police cadets spent the evening inviting shoppers to contribute non-perishable items of food to help swell the Daventry Food bank.
The Daventry Food Bank was started to provide emergency and essential food supplies to residents in Daventry district to support people in need due to sudden and unexpected events in their daily lives. The customers of Waitrose and Tesco were very generous and their kind donations filled six trolleys full of festive food to help individuals and families enjoy their Christmas.
Daventry Sergeant and Cadet unit leader Scott Renwick said: “The generosity of the Daventry shoppers was overwhelming, with around £700 worth of food donated in the short time the Cadets were at the two stores.
“The Cadets received positive feedback from the customers as being a good representation of Northamptonshire Police and I am pleased to have had the opportunity to be part of this worthwhile cause.”
