BIN collection calendars for the festive season are being sent out by Daventry District Council.
This year collections will continue on their normal cycle, with bin men working on both Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.
Bown bin collections will be suspended from December 26 through to January 8, but between Boxing Day and New Year’s Eve extra paper and large cardboard will also be collected if stacked next to recycling boxes.
Residents will also be able to recycle their real Christmas trees at collection points locally,
Collection days will not change but the council is advising people to follow the new calendar as there may be changes to their usual routine.
Daventry District Council’s environment portfolio holder Cllr Daniel Cribbin said: “Christmas always creates more waste than normal however people across Daventry district have always embraced the challenge of recycling as much of this as possible and I’m sure this year will be no exception.
“Residents have already done an excellent job throughout 2011 to recycle and it will be fantastic to finish the year on a high by recycling even more.”
