The Silverstone Classic has become almost as well renowned for its vast array of family-friendly off-track activities as it has for being ‘The World’s Biggest Classic Motor Racing Festival’.
And organisers say the sheer scale of this their very special Silver Jubilee extravaganza, which is on-going this weekend, is going to be hard to grasp, with the vast 800-acre Silverstone estate almost entirely given over to a plethora of attractions, activities, displays, shops, aviation, live music and more.
“The action-packed race schedule, featuring Europe’s finest historic championships, stands right at the heart of the mammoth meeting – but that’s only part of the full story,” said event director Nick Wigley. “Living up to its maxim of ‘Flat Out Fun for all the Family’, the Silverstone Classic really does boast a wealth of attractions and activities to keep all ages amused and engaged.”
This year’s three-day bill includes chart-topping legends Status Quo strutting their stuff on Saturday evening, sky-rides in a 40m Giant Wheel giving panoramic views of the venue, more than 10,000 classic cars on display, parades and aerial displays. All the live music, trackside grandstands, paddock access and the vast majority of the entertainment are all included in the standard ticket price.
Tickets must be purchased in advance. Adult admission starts from £40. To book and find out more, visit www.SilverstoneClassic.com
