COMPLAINTS against police officers in Northamptonshire have dropped by 29 per cent in the last 12 months, new figures have revealed.
The number of recordable complaints against Northamptonshire Police staff fell by 152 cases over the last 12 months, including falls in incivility and neglect, which went down by 28 per cent and 20 per cent respectively.
In total there were 378 recordable complaints in 2011-12, compared to 530 in 2010-11.
However, conduct cases against officers increased by 24 on last year, a rise of 63 per cent, and assaults increased by 12 cases, or 17 per cent.
The report also reveals Northamptonshire has referred 40 cases to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) over the last 12 months.
Over the last year, 36 police officers and staff have been subject of formal management action, or counselling, the report revealed.
