Fake maintenance man pushed his way inside Northamptonshire home and grabbed woman's wrists

A man claiming to be fixing broken pipes in Northamptonshire pushed his way inside a home and grabbed a woman by her wrists before fleeing.

At about 7.30pm on Thursday, February 11, a man knocked on the front door of a house in Downsway, East Hunsbury, and claimed to be fixing pipes in the area.

He asked the woman who answered if the pipes in her home had been done.

But when she tried to close the door, the man pushed the door against her and grabbed her wrists. She shouted for her husband and the man left.

Northamptonshire Police is now appealing for information from anyone who may have had a visit from a man claiming to be fixing pipes or similar, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the East Hunsbury area on Thursday evening.

The man is described as white, in his 20s and about 5ft 6ins tall.
