Exceptional award winners at Daventry Photographic Society's competition

Daventry Photographic Society held their annual presentation of awards last week with some exceptional entries.

The society held 12 competitions from March last year to February 2016 –six for printed photos and six for projected photos.

John Lewis, chairman of Daventry Photographic Society, handed out certificates to each of the winners of the 12 monthly photo competitions.

Engraved trophies were presented to the overall print section winner Michael Green and overall projected section winner Colin Prickett.

Based on the results of all of the competitions there is a trophy for the Best Overall Photographer and this year, for the first time ever, The Walker Cup was shared between Michael Green and Colin Prickett.

There is also the chairman’s award, which is presented to someone who has contributed greatly to the club and this went to long time member Bob Holt.

Daventry Photographic Society meets every Tuesday at Mayfield Park Sports Club on the Timken Estate.

New members are always welcome and anyone interested in finding out more about the society is welcome to attend two free taster sessions before joining.

It was started by the employees at Ford Motor Company who were interested in photography and is now completely independent of Ford and has members of all ages and abilities.
