Everest explorer to give talk in Daventry

A world famous adventurer who has won awards for his novels will be in Daventry on October 9.

Tickets are on sale for an evening with Matt Dickinson at St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, from 7pm.

Matt is a writer, film-maker and adventurer, who is best known for his award-winning novels, including the Death Zone and his current trilogy The Everest Files.

Matt came to fame in 1996 when he accompanied Alan Hinkes on a fateful ascent of the North Face of Everest.

His documentation of the climb, made in the worst weather conditions on record, is recorded in the film Summit Fever. He was the first British film-maker to return alive from such an ascent.

He will be talking about this adventures and career on Friday 9th October at 7pm.

Tickets cost £10 and supper is included at St. Mary’s Catholic Primary School, Main Street, Aston Le Walls.
