England stars come to town for a game

A number of former England internationals including World Cup-winning goalkeeper Gordon Banks will be visiting Daventry this month.

A charity football match will pit an England Legends XI against a Daventry Lions XI at Communications Park, the home of Daventry Town Football Club.

This will be followed by an evening with Gordon Banks, with both events taking place on Saturday, June 14. Both events have been organised by the team at Daventry-based Football for Charity.

Former England internationals playing in the team include Phil Neal, Alan Kennedy, Des Walker, Andy Sinton, Darren Anderton, Lee Hendrie and Darius Vassell.

Entrance is £5 for adults, £3 for children. There are VIP tickets for £30 to include food and the chance to meet the England players.

The nighttime meal includes a carvery, a raffle and auction. Entry to the evening event is £50 or a VIP ticket is £70. It starts at 7pm.

Tickets for either can be booked by calling Terry O’Neill on 07463809676 or by emailing terry@footballforcharity.com.
