Elderly man bitten by dog in Daventry

A 73-YEAR-OLD man was left with a bite wound to his arm after being attacked by a dog in Daventry.

On Wednesday, June 27, at shortly after 3pm, the man and his wife were walking their dog on the rugby field off Western Avenue in the town.

They noticed a woman in the distance with two dogs. One of the dogs was a black and tan, and the other was a light coloured Alsatian.

The Alsatian ran towards the elderly couple and knocked their dog over and then began growling.

Concerned for their dog, the elderly man picked it up at which point the Alsatian jumped up and bit his arm.

The owner of the Alsatian then led it away towards Christchurch Road. Neither of the two dogs belonging to the woman was on a lead.

The woman is described as white female, early 30s, local accent, blonde shoulder length wavy hair, 5ft 6ins tall, medium build, wearing a blue top and jeans.

The Alsatian is believed to be a puppy and the black and tan dog was also a young dog.
